The wife of the former Governor of Cross Rivers State, H.E. Onari Duke, daughter of Late Chief MKO Abiola, winner of the 1993 June 12 presidential election, Mrs Hafsat Abiola- Costello and the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale amongst others gathered at the GLEEHD Foundation’s women in business and Leadership Summit at the Dream Center in Lagos, advocating for more women in public office.
The Summit featured plenary sessions including Transforming Public Service through Women Participation, Women in Business: Transforming the Market Place, Emerging Women Leaders: Leadership through Influence, Media and Imaging Women as Transformers
The Summit also address the importance of networking within professional fields and focus on the role of women in developing, transforming and sustaining Africa’s economies and communities.
Comrade Adewale in his address noted that summit like this bring about networking, which is healthy for the country to move forward. He also cautioned people not to leach on their network(s).
According to GLEEHD’s Africa Director, Mr. Dayo Israel; he stated that GLEEHD Foundation is a not-for-profit international organization with headquartered in the United Kingdom and has its African Secretariat in Nigeria established to promote Africa’s Renaissance by fostering Good Governance and Democracy.
