RIP Steve Jobs - you were Apple to the core.

Steve Jobs was Apple to the core.
The 56-year-year-old lived and breathed the business which began life in a garage and became the most valuable company in the world.
Words like genius are banded about so frequently they are devalued.

But Jobs was a true visionary, creative genius and marketing man supreme.
He gave us things we didn’t even know we wanted - such as the iPad - and changed the way we live.
There have been four apples that changed the world. The one that Eve ate, the one that fell on Newton’s head, The Beatles Record label and the business Steve Jobs named after that.
The company changed the way we listen to music, how we read books, and how we communicate.
But Jobs’ masterstroke was staying one step ahead of the opposition by making complex kit so simple to use and making it look sexy and desirable. This also enabled the company to charge a premium for its products and attract the best designers.
Jobs’ start in life could hardly have been less auspicious. Born out of wedlock in San Francisco in 1955 he was put up for adoption.
He later dropped out of college but that didn’t stop him changing the world.
His career wasn’t without setbacks. In 1985, he was ousted from the company he created shortly after the first Apple Mac was launched to rave reviews but poor sales.
But he proved to be the comeback kid. After a successful stint running Pixar, during which time the first Toy Story movie was released, he returned to his spiritual home.
The success of the iPod, offering “1,000 songs in your pocket”, in 2001, led to a lengthy legal battle with The Beatles record label which had let him use the name provided he steered clear of music.
That row finally ended last year when the Fab Four’s music finally went on sale on iTunes.
The deal was yet another testimony to the irresistible force of Jobs’ personality and the power of his Apple empire.
Jobs once said: “Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me. Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful. That’s what matters to me.”
I think it is safe to say that on his passing he can rest easy on both counts.

  2. The world just lost a great man, a man you can learn a thing or two from, a man after my heart and maybe all of us or some. He was a man that most people remember most for his Iconic yet simple to use products. I used to refer to him as the p.diddy of the tech world. He didn't invent anything new in the 90s but rather re-invented the old and made the world to think differently through the eyes of Steve Jobs. RIP Steve.......
