Any true Afrobeat lover that missed this event missed out.
The music, the people and the atmosphere totally blew me away.
I definitely learnt that “The True Afrobeat” is not what we youngsters or 2nd and 3rd generation Africans in Diasporas are calling “Afrobeat”. Well some might say it has evolved into what we listen to nowadays but that’s a discussion for another day.
Bronzehead epitomize the true and original “Afrobeat” in a modern day setting.
The venue was filled with nationals from all different parts of the globe all bopping and swaying away to the sounds that bellowed out from the bands instruments. There was definitely more music and beats than there was singing.
The night was a perfect night out with relaxed settings, good music and people just generally having fun. We spent the night in the company of 2 Zambians’ and one Ethiopian. This was a little bit of joke as just hours earlier Zambia and Ethiopia met on the pitch of Africa Nations cup.
Bronzehead represents 5 different nationalities and with past musical experience in rock, reggae, hip hop, jazz, ska, and electronic
