PHCCIMA PRESIDENT BAGS ARTS, CULTURE & TOURISM AWARD





In recognition of his role in adding value and promotion of tourism in Nigeria, Engr. Emeka Unachukwu, President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce has bagged the prestigious,   Arts, Culture and Tourism Award bestowed on him by foremost arts, culture and tourism organization in the country, NG Lilies production.
Presenting the award at the hallowed chamber of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, the project manager of N.G Lilies production and renowned Nollywood actor, Chief Dr. Renny Ohajianya said the award was most deserving considering the imprints the president has made in boosting the sector. He said Unachukwu’s effort in the commerce and industry sector has not gone unnoticed as it has equally snowballed into resources for the arts, culture and tourism sector in the country.

I wish to mention that his nomination was not an accident but a thorough representation of an exceptional individual, we have gone through his profile and has closely observed his inputs in the industry and found him worthy of the award” he said.

Congratulating him for the award he said: “Basically it was in view of this galore of resounding contributions that we deem it fit to come here today to express out our gratitude and give honour to whom honour is due”, he said, adding that the PHCCIMA president is in the same league with MTN, Ecobank, Godswill Akpabio, Akwa Ibom state Governor and a whole lot of resourceful and quality individuals who have added value to the arts, culture and tourism sector.


In his remark the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce helmsman, Engr Emeka Unachukwu said he was humbled by the recognition especially coming from a foremost art, culture and tourism organization like N.G Lilies. He noted that the award is amazing coming barely one year after his resumption of office as PHCCIMA President. “As a chamber we have strived to bring fun and innovation into commerce and business. Ours is not limited to Oil and Gas, Engineering, Marine etc, but we create synergy with those in the entertainment, arts, culture and tourism industry” he said.
Unachukwu explained that PHCCIMA is not just a promoter of tourism but goes beyond promoting the conventional tourism to as far as spiritual tourism, sports tourism and other untapped areas of tourism.
He said the award is a call to action, even as he assured the N.G Lilies delegation that he will partner with them and be actively involved in all their programmes.
Similarly, in his vote of thanks, the Director of Empowerment, Entrepreneurship and sports of PHCCIMA, Surv. Emmanuel Ogbonda thanked members of N’G Lilies delegation for the award, he said the Port Harcourt Chamber president has been a blessing to the organization and the award is a further reflection of his excellence and invaluable contribution to humanity.
